Al-Anon /Alateen

A fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics meet regularly to share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. Group provides support for children of alcoholics ages 13-17. Provides mutual support to anyone who has been affected by someone's drinking.

Alcoholics Anonymous- Tulare County

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes and causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

Alta Family Health Clinic

Alta Family Health Clinic (AFHC) is a federally qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike serving the communities of Dinuba, Cutler, and Orosi in northern Tulare County.

Alternative Services

Adult Drug Court
A jail alternative for substance abuse offenders provided by the Tulare County judicial system. The Program offers intensive services for assessment, individual, group, and family counseling, a comprehensive life skill program, employment readiness, anger management and random drug testing.

Adult Outpatient Services
Services are offered for adult substance abusers in Visalia and Porterville.
Services include assessment, individual, group and family counseling, a comprehensive life skills program, employment readiness, anger management, and random drug testing.

Batterers Program
A 52- week program for perpetrators of domestic violence.

Driving Under the Influence / First Offender Program
Services include, initial interview/assessment, individual counseling sessions, and educational classes.  Therapeutic group and bi-weekly 
self-help groups geared toward awareness of the problem. Ther is a three month and six month problem.

Multiple Offender Programs
Services are designed to meet the population of previous offenders that have re-offended.

American Cancer Discovery Shop

Discovery Shops are upscale resale shops owned and operated by the American Cancer Society. All items are donated and the shops are staffed by volunteers.

Cancer patient services may include transportation to treatment, guest housing, durable medical goods, support groups, wigs, prosthesis, educational programs on cancer prevention, and sand screening/early cancer detection.

American Diabetes Association

Provides literature on diabetes, advocacy, health fairs, support groups, and educational programs.

American Kidney Foundation

American Kidney Fund

Provides direct financial aid to needy kidney patients, transplant recipients, and donors to help cover the cost of specific treatment expenses. Grants available to assist patients in affording medication, transportation, emergency transient dialysis, special diet needs, etc. Eligibility for financial assistance must be demonstrated by filing an application available through the patient's renal social worker and nephrologists.

American Parkinson Disease Association

Program provides education, information and emotional support to parkinson disease patients, their family members and friends.

American Red Cross

Provides disaster assistance with immediate emergency needs and emergency communications between military members and their families in the community.  Assist with preparation for emergency situations through CPR, standard First Aid, water safety, and other health and safety training classes.

American Veterans Department of California

Eligibility: Honorably discharged vet of any time from 1940 to present. Provides hospital equipment to members of post 56 free of charge with no limit of use. Accidental death of dismemberment insurance for members, flag and services for funerals. Veteran's Clinic on Gem St. provides a van for transportation. Scholarships offered to high School students of children of members of Post 56.
